The injuries have begun to take their toll and it will be very interesting to see how much different aggregate RB rankings at FantasyFootballCrystalBall.com will be for week 3 based on the wounded rushers and their replacements.  Injuries, however, are not the only factor contributing to the change in the rankings.  What set FFToday and FantasyDraftRankings apart from the rest was that they nailed some trends. They believed in Fred Jackson, Ben Tate, and Willis McGahee.  All guys that were undervalued in the general rankings.  Since we have more data this year we will share more with you.  Check out the trends below to see who are trending up and down and which rushers are good buy low and sell high candidates.

Let’s wrap up week 2 first.  FFJungle and FFWinners finished in a tie with the second highest percentage of correct picks and four sites, CBS, Pyromaniac.com, FantasyFootballTrader.com, and FantasyFootballCafe.com came across the line together in third.  Don’t forget to tune back in for the points race updates at each position later today.  It’s a new feature for this year that we are really excited about.

TRENDS

-        Fred Jackson is for real and he is a force.  We think this week should see him crack the top 10 in the aggregate rankings for the first time.  He just may stay there all season.

-        The experts are not as sold on Tim Hightower.  He was all over the board for the second consecutive week.  The experts can’t seem to come to a consensus on Hightower.  That can also be said for the San Diego backs but what is interesting is that this week Ryan Mathews seems to be over taking Mike Tolbert.  So the experts are buying Mathews and selling Tolbert.
-        The experts are buying Shonn Greene, Jahvid Best, Darren Sproles, and Dexter McCluster.  Also trending upward but not cracking the “starters” are the obvious injury fill-ins like Demarco Murray and Willis McGahee, but that trend may be temporary, although McGahee looks to have some staying power.  Young upstarts are also bumping their way up the rankings.  Roy Helu, Delone Carter, and Isaac Redman are significantly higher in the early week three rankings than in week two.-        Other running backs the experts are selling; Ahmad Bradshaw, Mark Ingram, Joseph Addai, and Cedric Benson.  All of those guys are coming in lower in the early rankings in week.  They have all underperformed their aggregate rankings which means they have a higher perceived value than actual and are guys you should consider selling high.

This year we will be running a “Points Race” for each position.  Think Nascar only in order to win you have to be the most accurate at a position through the season.  So, experts sit on their ass making rankings not asking to be called athletes as opposed to sitting on their ass making left hand turns and asking to be called athletes.  Anyway, the points race rankings for each position will be revealed later today.
