It’s never too early to take a look at ADP data to determine which players have first round value heading into the 2012 fantasy draft. As the NFL continues to become more passer friendly the QB position is becoming more and more important in the fantasy universe.
Today we present an article from FFtoolbox.com that makes the case for five players at the #4 spot ( 3 QBs, one MJD and one Megatron).
It’s widely assumed that the top 3 picks will likely be LeSean McCoy and impending free agents Ray Rice / Arian Foster. After the Big 3 RBs come off the board - we could very well see a run on the stud QBs as they have proven to be difference makers over the past few seasons. Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers each averaged more than 26 Fantasy PPG in 2011 and have cemented themselves as first round worthy. Tom Brady is a borderline first round option in our mind and we might even rank him behind younger signal callers Matt Stafford and Cam Newton heading into 2012.
Calvin Johnson is a man among boys at the WR position. Megatron averaged 17 Fantasy PPG - next closest was the Giants Victor Cruz (12 FPG). His consistency and clear-cut value as the #1 WR makes him a serious candidate for the 4th overall pick. Ultimately the Lions WR would be our choice at #4 – slight edge over MJD whose weak supporting cast and extensive workload has us moderately concerned heading into next season.
