NEWS
Felix Jones is injured…again. Like a broken record, isn’t it. The latest news was that he was not spotted at practice on Wednesday and like most of the rest of league, Jones has one less day to recover this week. The Cowboys are facing the Eagles in a must-win game in Week 16 and are already without their top RB, Demarco Murray. The Cowboys will do absolutely everything they can to have Jones on the field on Saturday. Jones owners got the kind of production they were hoping for when they drafted him early in 2011 fantasy drafts, but after 25 touches he needed an IV on the side lines and came out of the game with hamstring issues.
VIEWS
Adam Levitan of Rotoworld.com expects Jones to play but says that you can’t expect anywhere near 25 touches, making him a RB#2 prospect.
The guys at ESPN.com have Felix Jones ranked 20th in their Week 16 RB rankings.
FANTASY FOOTBALL SPIN
The Eagles defense has been playing much better of late. They are no longer a guaranteed great matchup for opposing RBs. Don’t forget what Marshawn Lynch did to them, however. They can be run on. It seems like powerful runners have a better shot at exposing the Eagles defense, a very speedy defense, than a edge rusher like Jones. If Jones isn’t getting it done, whether that be because the Eagles defense is shutting him down or he isn’t healthy, the team will turn to the passing game and Sammy Morris. If you are going to start one Cowboys back, Felix Jones is still the guy, as long as he plays, but we don’t trust him as any more than a low end RB#2. Follow this closely and stay tuned. A lot depends on when Jones returns to practice.
